Behind the Plate
Hi! I'm Michelle. I've always loved sharing new food spots I tried out or discovered with my friends as long as I can remember. In February 2025 I posted on Detroit Reddit that I was looking for the best smashburger and woke up to over 40 suggestions to try. I filmed the first one for friends and they said I should post it public on TikTok and the rest was history.

It's not just the food, it's the stories of the people: The owners with a dream, the chefs with a message in their cooking, and the servers with their care to their patrons.

The best part of doing this has been my community. I can say hands down I have the kindest group of people coming along on the adventure to support small local restaurants and explore even more with me. Â
